Thank you for your interest in the CRAF South Florida Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant funded by Truist Bank. This grant aims to empower nonprofits in Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties by providing essential resources to enhance their operations and impact in the community.
This grant includes an optional built-in Barbara Geralds Institute for Storytelling and Social Impact (BSRI) training that will help nonprofits create an impactful focus on storytelling, a one pager, and a slide deck for practical funding outreach to banks and other organizations.
Eligibility Criteria:
To apply, organizations must meet the following requirements:
- Be a current member of CRAF
- Have an administrative budget of $500,000 or less
- Be located in the counties of Miami Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach
- Be registered and in good standing with the state of Florida
- Submit all required documents with the application

- Strategic Planning: Align your organization’s vision, mission, and values with programs, operations, and resource allocation.
- Board Governance & Leadership: Benefit from comprehensive training and workshops for board members and executive leaders.
- Strategic Relationship Building: Leverage partnerships and collaborations to meet specific goals and address community needs.
- Human Resources: Adopt best practices in HR, including policy development, professional and leadership development, and reducing staff turnover.
- Organizational Recovery & Sustainability: Enhance disaster preparedness, financial resilience, and security against various threats.
- Revenue Diversification: Strengthen fundraising and grant writing skills to reduce financial risk and improve stability.
- Cultural Competence: Develop an understanding of diverse populations, address implicit biases, and promote inclusive organizational cultures.
- Supporting Accounting/Audits: Ensure accurate financial management and compliance.
Additionally, the following documents are required to be submitted along with your application for the CRAF Nonprofit Capacity Building Grant:
- Proof of 501(c)(3) status
- Most recent annual budget
- List of Board of Directors
- Latest financial statements or audit report
- Impact report showing the work done since the organization was founded, including milestones achieved, communities served, and measurable outcomes that reflect its mission in action.
