Arely Lozano Cantu

Arely B. Lozano Cantu is the Director of Health Access and Livability at Urban Health Partnerships (UHP). She joined the UHP team as the Health and Community Development Program Manager in November of 2018 after having worked as a Community Health Worker and Program Director at the YMCA of South Florida for the previous 5 years. Arely possesses over 10 years of experience in community organizing, grass-roots approaches in education, research, and development, management, community health, and in programming support and solutions. Having gained skills through grass-roots organizing, youth and food justice advocacy, and professional community and public health work, Arely holds a strong passion for amplifying resident voices and building, supporting, and sustaining strategic and impactful ideas in action aimed at improving health-empowerment and development opportunities in underserved communities. Arely oversees the Food Access, Security and Justice (FASJ) initiative and the Community Driven Leadership (CDL) initiative at UHP, is fluently bilingual and holds a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a focus on Health & Food Access in communities of color.
